RIPPLE BOARD

Most boards are rectangles. They do the job and go back in the drawer. You don’t think about them between uses.

These aren’t flat. Each board has a surface pattern carved into solid bamboo — grooves, waves, ridges — that catch light and create shadow. They look different at noon than they do at dusk. They look different on a dark table than a light one. That’s intentional. The shapes are designed to be noticed.

Bamboo is harder than maple. It’s naturally non-porous, which means it resists odours, stains, and moisture without any chemical treatment. The surface stays clean. The grain shifts and deepens over time — what looks like aging is actually the board becoming more interesting.

The carved side is the display side. The underside is flat and smooth — use it for serving or light prep. Lay out cheese and bread on the flat side, flip it over for the shelf. Or just let it sit on the dining table carved-side-up, holding a candle and a few stems. It works either way.

Three designs. Not three sizes — three different sculptural forms, each with its own visual language.

The Arch has a domed top and concentric grooves that radiate outward like contour lines on a map. It’s the most graphic of the three — structured, symmetrical, the kind of shape that holds a wall shelf or a dining table without needing anything on it.

The Wave is all movement. Flowing S-curves that run the length of the board, organic and loose. It’s the narrowest of the three and the most striking on a console or a long table where it draws the eye down its full length. This is the one people pick up.

The Ridge is linear. Parallel grooves run end to end across a clean rectangle. It’s the quietest design — disciplined, modern, the kind of texture that sits behind a candle or a stack of books and adds depth without competing.

All three are 1.8cm thick. Substantial enough to feel serious. Light enough to carry one-handed.
